The Kathleen Folbigg Inquiry, a second appeal into her previous convictions, was held in 2022. It is well known that new evidence from medical genetic science was influential in overturning the court’s previous finding of guilt. Less well known is the influence of psychological and psychiatric testimony on proceedings. This particularly concerned the ways in which Ms Folbigg had presented in court, the status of her diary and the ways in which it had been used in evidence. This forum will bring together some of the key players in the Inquiry, including Ms Folbigg’s legal representatives, Rhanee Rego and Robert Cavanagh. Several ANZAP-affiliated practitioners also submitted reports, including Kamal Touma, Janine Stevenson and David Butt.
