CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

THEME: The Roads from Here - The Evolution of The Conversational Model

A multiplicity of visions for the Conversational Model reveals a rich, evolving landscape at the intersection of theory and praxis. ANZAP’s 2026 Annual Conference Committee invites a collaborative meditation on the expansion of the Conversational Model in the here and now, and in the future unfolding.

For this year’s conference, the committee welcomes papers that demonstrate creative, cogent, and cutting-edge approaches to the Conversational Model, a dynamic psychotherapy in conversation with contemporary research.

We are delighted to welcome Allan Schore as our keynote, a beacon in the fields of psychodynamic therapy and the neuroscience of the right brain, and long-time friend and colleague of Russell Meares. Allan Schore will be offering a pre-conference workshop in addition to his keynote presentation.

The Conference Committee aims to provide a platform for therapists at all stages of their journey, and a balance of voices across the Tasman. Recent graduates are encouraged to submit.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 5th June 2026.

Please include a short biographical note about yourself and a photograph.

Abstracts (presentations of 45 minutes including question/discussion time) should be up to 300 words.  Please email to Anne Malecki at the ANZAP office: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Location Kimpton Margot Hotel, Sydney
